The Different Methods Used For Carpet Cleaning
Carpet cleaning is usually done to remove dirt, stains, and allergens in carpets. There are different techniques for carpet cleaning depending on the type and pile of your carpet. Generally, common methods used include dry-cleaning, steam cleaning, and extraction. Each technique for carpet cleaning has its own advantages and disadvantages.
Dry cleaning involves using a machine that sprays water onto the carpets and then sucks it up with suction. This technique requires very little water because the machines only need to do a light cleaning. The only disadvantage of dry cleaning is that some stains will not be removed completely. Also, certain fabrics can absorb a lot of water, such as silk. Vacuum cleaning is the more commonly used technique in carpet cleaning, since it is also known to be the most effective method.
Steam cleaning involves high-powered water jets that penetrate deep into the carpet to loosen dirt and stains. By doing this, carpets are soaked with a detergent solution that is then vacuumed up with water. Some people have stated that this technique leaves carpets looking cleaner than they did before it was cleaned, but it is also very drying. If the carpet is left with residual moisture after the cleaning, it will attract more dirt and become dirty again.
Vacuum extraction is done by attaching a suction hose to a vacuum machine and spraying the entire room with a jet of water. This technique is popular with dry carpet cleaning, since it does not require a lot of water. The dry carpet cleaning agents do most of the work of removing dirt and grime, which save energy. However, the dry cleaning process does take longer, sometimes taking several hours, since there is no drying time involved.
The last method, which is referred to as wet vacuuming, is the preferred method in some cases. It is used when the carpet has been heavily soiled or stained, but it is not in danger of developing mildew or mold. The soiled or stained areas are individually vacuumed, then dried at a temperature of about sixty-six degrees Fahrenheit. The hot water dries the residue from the carpet fibers, allowing it to naturally absorb the remaining stains or pet odors.
When performing the wet vacuuming technique, you must first thoroughly rinse the area with warm water, making sure to get out all of the cleaner. Then, using a wet vacuum cleaner, remove as much of the cleaner as possible. Next, place a clean white cloth on the surface of the wet carpet to absorb as much of the remaining dirt or cleaner. The cloth is dried after a few minutes in the sun. The three methods described above are all effective methods for deep cleaning of carpets, although the type of cleaner and the time it is used will determine how deep the carpet is truly cleaned.
